Passive income is a fantastic concept. I will try to explain, what it is all about, and why you should spend some time getting to know about this concept. In a normal job you’re typically paid a fixed salary based on the number of hours you work. It is like a trade off between your employer and yourself. Every time you go to work, you make money, and the more hours you work, the more money you make. This is no bad deal at all, especially it your wage is good.

There are just a few disadvantages with this way of making money. You ONLY make money, when you’re at work. This is about 7-8 hours 5 times a week. When you’re not at work, you don’t make money on the contrary you spend money.

Passive income works in another way. With passive income you don’t just make money, when you work – you make money ALL them time, day and night. A lot of rich people spend their time making money, but how fun is it, if you spend 70 hours a week on the job and doesn’t have time to enjoy the money.The idea about passive income is that you spend a lot of time and energy making a system, which makes money for you. No system is a 100% passive, which means you have to spend a little time keeping the system up to date. When you’ve got one system up and running, you can do two things. You can improve your systems way to make money, or you can start working on a new system. A lot of people have compared systems for passive income with “money trees”. They take care of themselves, but they have to be watered once in a while.

You need your own website to start making money on Google AdSense. Furthermore it is a condition, that your website doesn’t contain any form of pornographic content. Your website has to be family friendly to get the approval from Google. Google can also turn down your request for no reasons at all, so don’t apply for Google AdSense, before your website is ready. When you’ve made sure, your website doesn’t break these rules, you send your application to Google AdSense. If you get the approval, you can now start placing AdSense-adds on your website. It is not that difficult, and Google guides you, when you log on to adsense.google.com. You can chance the shape and colours of the ads, to make them fit into your website layout.

So how do you make money on these ads? In normal affiliate programs you get paid per click on your ads. This is a bit different with Google ads. Your payment depends on, how much the advertisers pay, to get their ads shown on websites. The more they pay the better placement on websites they get, and the more money you make. Off course Google takes their fair share.

A little warning. Don’t get tempted to click your own ads. This is another rule in the Google AdSense program. If Google finds out you cheat, you’ll get banned from Google AdSense, and you can kick your own money machine goodbye.

Unlike the Google AdSense program, affiliate programs lets you chose the advertisers on your website, and normally you get paid per click on the advertisement. Some affiliate programs only pay you, if the visitors buy something after being led to their website.

There are many international Affiliate Program Providers. You just have to type “affiliate program” in google, and you will find them all. One of the largest is Commission Junction.

If your website doesn't show up in a search on Google, MSN or Yahoo, you can forget about getting success. You can manually inform the large search engines, that your website exist. You can do it here for Google, here for MSN, and here for Yahoo. It can take up to three weeks, before your website is added by the search engines. There is a lot of other small search engines, but don't waste your time on them.
